Sailing and Nautics

Visit the beautiful archipelago and explore peaceful bays, stay in one of the hospitable ports and marinas, find out more about wooden shipbuilding and maritime tradition and feel the passion for sailing the open, turquoise sea!

The island of Murter is an important nautical tourism location in the Adriatic thanks to its three marinas in Murter, Betina and Jezera and the beauty of the Murter sea, which is 94 metres deep at its deepest point and covers the area of 210 square kilometres. It is surrounded by the stone pearls of the Kornati National Park (320km2), the most indented archipelago in the Adriatic Sea consisting of almost 150 islands, islets and rocks, as well as by the famous islands of Žirje, Kakan, Kaprije and Tetovišnjaci - a group of five islands and a rock off the coast of Šibenik. The Murter sea, although seemingly calm and idyllic, is a challenge even for yachtsmen who have experience with sudden and significant wind changes as well as with strong sea currents abundant in the Murter sea.

Tisno port

The Tisno port is located in the southeast of the island of Murter. It consists of a pier with a 60-metre long breakwater, with the top 20 metres serving as a working pier and the remaining 40 metres intended for communal berths. A 350-metre long reconstructed part of the seafront, whose 150 metres are intended for berthing nautical vessels, is adjacent to the pier. On the north side of the bridge there is a working pier intended for berthing excursion boats.
